Occupational Health

The council's Occupational Health service has an overview of our staff's wellbeing and provides specialist services for the Council, managers and individuals.  Further information is available on the Organisational Development pages of the intranet* or from your manager.

Employee Assistance Programme

Staff have access to independent professionally qualified Counsellors and Information Specialists, who are experienced in helping people to deal with all kinds of practical and emotional issues such as wellbeing, family matters, relationships, debt management, workplace issues, and much more.  Details of how to access the service are available on the Organisational Development pages of the intranet* or from your manager.

Wellbeing Wednesday bulletin

Every week a Wellbeing Wednesday bulletin is circulated to all members of staff.  It is intended to support staff, whether they are working on the frontline, at home, in the office or working in a School.  Staff wellbeing is of critical importance and the bulletin is intended to provide a snapshot of the resources available.

Life membership

Life is the Corporate Membership Scheme for all full time and part time permanent and temporary employees of Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council.  It allows you to use the facilities at three sports centres in Blaenau Gwent provided by Aneurin Leisure at a cut-price rate.
