Detached Youth Work
Open to all young people aged 11 – 16
Various locations 6 – 9pm
Our qualified detached youth work team will be out in the community, engaging with young people in their own spaces. Activities and projects will be shaped around young people’s interests, alongside advice, guidance and support, with signposting and referrals where needed, helping to positively tackle anti-social behaviour.

Cuppa & Catch Up
Open to all young people aged 16 - 25years
No booking necessary
Just drop in! A chilled space with loads going on, including gaming, cooking, skills sessions, issue-based workshops etc. There’s support from youth workers too, whether you want help with education, employment or training, or just someone to talk to.
No pressure, no judgement – just a safe place to hang out, get Involved and be yourself.

Ebbw Vale Sports Centre
Open to all young people aged 16-25 years
Looking for a way to boost your health, wellbeing and confidence? Come along to our Health and Wellbeing Group at Ebbw Vale Sports Centre every Thursday. You’ll get free access to the gym and health suite, take part in activities that support your physical and mental wellbeing, and connect with others in a relaxed, supportive space. There is also advice and guidance on education, employment, training and volunteering, plus access to free sports kit if you need it.

Come along to our Give It a Try Days for ages 11–16! Delivered in partnership with local groups and organisations, these fun, hands-on sessions are your chance to try something different, learn new skills, meet new people, and have a laugh along the way.

Join us for a special cinema session showing The Odyssey! Sit back, relax, and enjoy an afternoon on the big screen with friends and other young people from across the area. This session offers a great chance to enjoy a blockbuster film as part of our summer activities programme.
Spaces limited to 100 young people on a first come, first served basis. Once all 100 spaces have been filled, no further admissions will be possible, so be sure to arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Drawing from Life... Circus Performer!
Looking to try something creative and a little different this summer? Join us for Drawing from Life... Circus Performer, This is a drawing from life session with a fully clothed circus performer.
This fun and relaxed session celebrates identity, individuality and self-expression, encouraging young people to explore creativity while developing their drawing skills and confidence. Whether you're an experienced artist or just enjoy being creative, everyone is welcome to get involved.
Refreshments will be provided throughout the session, so you can relax, get creative, and enjoy the experience.
This session can also be delivered through the medium of Welsh.

The BGYS Detached Team will be out in force supporting this highly anticipated annual summer event, packed with fun and energy for young people. Enjoy a giant beach setup, test your skills on the surf simulator, and soak up live entertainment including broadcasts and music from BGfm, plus entertainers and much more.

BGYS are partnering with Blaenau Gwent Play Team to launch ‘Youth in the Park’ by providing an offer for older young people 11–16, including sport, gaming, silent disco and creative activities, alongside opportunities to connect with youth workers and access support, particularly for those transitioning from primary to secondary school.

Come along to Party in the Park, a fantastic community event packed with music, food, games, activities and plenty of opportunities to hang out with friends!
Delivered by Blaenau Gwent Youth Service and partners, this event is all about bringing young people together for a fun, safe and enjoyable day in the park. Whether you want to get involved in the activities, grab some food, listen to the music or just chill out with friends, there's something for everyone.
Our Youth Workers will also be there throughout the event if you want a chat, need advice or support, or just want to find out more about what BGYS has to offer.
