Weekly payment amounts for the NHS Healthy Start scheme have increased from 6 April 2026.
The new weekly payment amounts are:
- £4.65 per week for people who are more than 10 weeks pregnant
- £9.30 per week for children under one year old
- £4.65 per week for children aged one to four years
The increase applies across England, Wales and Northern Ireland and people on the scheme will receive it automatically.
The NHS Healthy Start scheme helps pregnant women and families on low incomes to access healthy food, milk and vitamins. People could be eligible if they are more than 10 weeks pregnant or have children under four years old. They also need to receive certain income-related benefits.
Last year, thousands of pounds went unclaimed in Blaenau Gwent through the Healthy Start scheme.
