Well done to Blaenau Gwent learners who have picked up their GCSE results today. Young people from the borough’s secondary schools have once again achieved well across a wide range of subjects.
The Council’s Cabinet Member and Strategic Director for Children, Young people & Families, Cllr Sue Edmunds and Dr Luisa Munro-Morris, visited schools this morning to personally congratulate pupils and families and thank staff and governors.
Councillor Sue Edmunds said:
"Congratulations to all our learners on their GCSE results today, you should be incredibly proud of what you have achieved. Whether you're moving on to further education, training, employment or exploring new opportunities, I wish you every success for the future.
“I would also like to thank our dedicated school staff, governors, families and wider school communities for the encouragement, guidance and support they have provided throughout this journey.
“We remain committed to helping children and young people thrive, achieve their ambitions and realise their full potential.”
Dr Luisa Munro-Morris, Strategic Director, added:
"Congratulations to all our learners in Blaenau Gwent on their GCSE results. These achievements reflect not only the hard work and dedication of our young people, but also the commitment and support of teachers, school staff, families and carers who have encouraged them every step of the way.
“These results are a testament to the strong partnerships that exist between our schools, the Council and the Local Authority School Improvement Service, with a shared focus on ensuring every learner has the opportunity to succeed. I wish all our learners the very best as they take their next steps and look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the future."
