BG Arts Library of Things is celebrating a successful first year, marking an impressive milestone of 101 borrows since launching the initiative.
The Library of Things enables local people to borrow useful items rather than buy them, helping residents save money, reduce waste and access equipment they may only need occasionally.
Over the past year, the project has helped users save an estimated £5,375, while also preventing 34 items from going to landfill. Borrowed items have supported a wide range of activities, including weddings, birthday parties and people trying out new hobbies.
To celebrate the project's first anniversary, BG Arts is thanking everyone who has supported and used the service. Each borrow contributes to a more sustainable and resourceful community by encouraging sharing, reuse, and reducing unnecessary purchases.
The Library of Things has recently expanded its collection with several new additions, including a Badge Maker, Thermal Label Printer and a 4-litre Urn, giving members even more practical resources to borrow.
As the library continues to grow, BG Arts is encouraging local people to explore the collection, suggest future items and register as members.
