IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING THE COMMERCIAL / TRADE RECYCLING SERVICE
The new service roll out will take place from Tuesday 4th May 2021. After this point we will no longer be able to accept Dry Mixed Recycling (DMR) either mixed in bins or in the blue and clear single use recycling bags. The single use plastic recycling bags will no longer be acceptable for use after the end of April 2021. New customers from August 2020 will already have the new service dry recycling containers so are not affected. Residual (refuse) and Food recycling bin ranges are not changing. All old service DMR bins will be collected in and replaced with the waste stream specific bins from mid to end of April 2021 and replaced with the new bins you have requested. The co-collectable streams are:
• Mixed Paper & Cardboard
• Mixed Plastic Containers & Metal Cans
• Mixed Glass
Most customers have already fed back their new recycling bin requirements and most will have received the paperwork for the new contract year, however, for a number of reasons, there are a small number of existing customers who have not responded yet and we have been unable to make contact with, most likely due to enforced closure for lockdown.
For those businesses who haven’t yet responded and wish to retain their commercial waste and recycling service with us, please get in contact without delay as you will need a new service contract, duty of care and separated waste dry recycling bins as our new trade recycling vehicles have 3 x corresponding compartments so the mixing of recycling outside of the three new streams will not be possible and any mixed recycling put out will not be collected.
Please refer to the section here on the website which details what our commercial service can and cannot accept for recycling and also the section for frequently asked questions.
If you need any further information, please contact the service desk on 01495 311556.

Update For The New Recycling Service
In line with the latest Welsh Government Environmental legislation, commercial waste will be required to be presented and collected in a separated way, similar to the household recycling collections. Some elements of co-collection are permitted making three main trade dry recycling streams as follows:
- Mixed Paper & Cardboard
- Mixed Plastic Containers & Metal Cans
- Mixed Glass
The Council’s commercial recycling service accepts a similar range of recycling items to the household recycling service. Please check the following guidelines to ensure the service meets your business’ requirements.
