Consenting of Watercourses

As a Lead Local Flood Authority Blaenau Gwent has a duty to regulate certain drainage activities that might have an adverse impact on flood risk and the environment and to ensure that riparian owners carry out their responsibilities. 

Consent is required for:

• Any alteration likely to affect the flow of an ordinary watercourse
• Any culvert
• Temporary as well as permanent works
