If you are eligible for the Council Tax Reduction Scheme (CTRS) because you are on a low income, and you rely on heating oil or LPG to heat your home, you are eligible for a one-off £200 payment.
What do I need to do?
If you are already receiving CTRS and your home is not connected to the gas grid, we will contact you directly and invite you to apply. You will be asked to confirm your heating fuel type by supplying us with an invoice from within the last 12 months and provide bank details.
If you do not currently receive CTRS, the eligibility and application details can be found here:
How long do I have to apply?
You must be in receipt of CTRS, or have applied successfully for CTRS, between 1 April 2026 and 31 July 2026. You should then apply for the heating oil and LPG support as soon as possible. The latest date for applications is 30 September 2026.
I am ready to apply
Before applying, make sure you have a copy of your heating oil invoice or receipt from the last 12 months and a copy bank statement clearly showing your bank details.
