The first Blaenau Gwent Council ‘Deal Village’ will be at Brynmawr Beach Day – bringing a range of council services together to show how we are working to improve people’s lives and the local area.
Brynmawr Beach Day – bringing the beach into town – is taking place in The Square on Monday, 27th July, between 11am and 4pm. The free fun day out for the family also includes mini golf, live music and crafts.
It will also host the Council’s ‘Deal Village’, where people can find out more about the council's new way of working alongside communities, interact with a range of services and meet partners like Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations.
People can find out how the Council and its partners are working to improve people's lives across the borough, and how they themselves can get involved in their community.
There will also be an opportunity to find out about the latest Aspire apprenticeship opportunities.
Plus, fun activities will be provided.
Councillor Steve Thomas, Leader of Blaenau Gwent Council, said:
"The Deal Village will help to bring our new way of working with communities to life for people. Our dedicated teams, partners and local community groups will be on hand to speak to residents about the work we do and provide inspiration and advice on how they themselves can work with us to make a positive change to where they live.
"We’re also using the day to help launch our new consultation platform, Get Involved Blaenau Gwent, where people can have a say on local projects, take part in consultations and surveys, and help to shape the future of their community.”
The Blaenau Gwent Deal Village will also be at National Play Day, Bedwellty Park, Tredegar, on Wednesday 5th August.
