We are reviewing our Active Travel Network Map for the area to help make walking, wheeling and cycling safer, easier and more accessible for everyday journeys.

Since the map was last published, improvements have been made to existing routes and new facilities have been established to benefit pedestrians, wheelers and cyclists.
Now, we want residents to help identify issues and shape future plans.
Active Travel is the name given for everyday short distance journeys that people make on foot or by cycle such as to work, school, college or to reach the shops and other facilities. This can also include users of wheelchairs or other mobility aids.

Councillor Tommy Smith, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods and Environment said:
"We want to make it easier, safer and more accessible for people to walk, wheel and cycle across our communities, and the Active Travel Map plays an important role in helping us plan for the future. We're encouraging residents, businesses and community groups to take part in this consultation and share their views. Local knowledge is important in identifying where improvements are needed and helping us create routes that better connect people to schools, workplaces, services and leisure opportunities.
"We want to hear from as many people as possible to ensure the map reflects the needs of our communities both now and in the years ahead."
