Community Events and Social Opportunities
Menter Iaith Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen and Mynwy (BGTM) organises a wide range of Welsh language events and activities for all ages and abilities. These include:
- Welsh conversation groups
- Cultural events and festivals
- Family-friendly activities
- Workshops and informal meetups
These events are designed to be inclusive and welcoming, whether you're fluent or just starting out. They’re a great way to use Welsh in a relaxed setting and make new connections.

Weekly Meet Ups in Bryn Bach Park, Tredegar
Every Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 12:00, a friendly group of Welsh learners and speakers meet at Parc Bryn Bach for informal conversation and socialising.
Organised with support from Menter Iaith Blaenau Gwent and Learn Welsh Gwent, this group is open to all levels and is a great way to practise Welsh in a relaxed, natural setting—often followed by a cuppa in the café. Whether you're a beginner or a fluent speaker, you're welcome to join and enjoy the beautiful surroundings while using your Welsh.

Welsh Language Learning for Adults
Dysgu Cymraeg Gwent, delivered by Coleg Gwent on behalf of the National Centre for Learning Welsh, offers a wide range of courses tailored to your needs:
- Beginner to Proficiency levels
- Evening classes, intensive courses, and blended learning
- Free online tasters and refresher sessions
- Courses for parents and families
These courses are friendly, informal, and a great way to meet others in your community who are also learning Welsh.
