What an incredible year it’s been! We’ve had the absolute privilege of meeting and working alongside ten extraordinary Welsh Champions who have lit up our communities with their passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to sharing the richness of our language and culture.
From grassroots initiatives to national impact, each Champion has gone above and beyond to inspire, educate, and uplift those around them. Whether through storytelling, music, education, activism, or community leadership, their work has left a lasting legacy, and we couldn’t be prouder.
This year, we’re thrilled to induct all ten Champions, along with two of our very own brilliant staff members, into our Honours List for the Class of 2025. They’ve earned their place through tireless effort, heartfelt engagement, and a deep love for Wales and its heritage.
These Champions are more than role models, they’re torchbearers of our identity, and their brilliance deserves to be celebrated far and wide.
Diolch o galon to each and every one of you. You make Wales shine brighter.
If you know of a Welsh champion for the 2026 list, then send us who and why to Cymraeg@blaenau-gwent.gov.uk
