CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the required training and qualifications for the type of work they carry out.

Most principal contractors and major house builders require construction workers on their sites to hold a valid CSCS card.

CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test

Before applying for a CSCS card, you must pass the CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test. This test ensures you understand essential health and safety practices on site.

To apply for a CSCS card you are required to pass the appropriate level of CITB Health, safety and environment (HS&E) test within the last two years or an approved alternative.

The test aims to examine knowledge across a wide range of topics to improve safety and productivity on site and is an important way for construction workers to show employers they can be safe on the job.

The General Offices is an approved CITB Internet Test Centre with HS&E testing sessions running once a month.

  • Specialist HS&E
  • Managers and Professionals test
