Cwrt Mytton Care Home, Abertillery, has achieved a ‘Good’ rating following an inspection by Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW).
Care homes are assessed across four key areas:
- Well-being
- Care and Support
- Environment
- Leadership and Management
Cwrt Mytton Care Home is run by Blaenau Gwent Council and provides accommodation and support for up to 28 older adults.
The report highlighted the home’s consistently high standards of care, where residents experience dignity, respect, choice, and opportunities for meaningful activities. The environment is welcoming, offering private rooms, communal spaces, and outdoor areas for residents to enjoy.
Strong leadership and management were also commended, with effective quality assurance and feedback systems driving continuous improvement.
