AMBER WARNING - Storm Bram
Due to increased confidence in the forecast, the Met Office have issued an Amber weather warning for rain between midnight and 10am on Tuesday 9 December. You can also expect high winds overnight.
The ground is already pretty saturated, so crews are out, checking culverts and gullies and targeting priority areas. We also have additional crews coming in this evening to provide resilience when the weather is predicted to be at its worst.
Most of the impact is likely to be in the early hours of Tuesday with 50 - 75 mm of rainfall over the high ground and the odd isolated spot could see 100mm.
You can expect:
- Spray and flooding leading to difficult driving conditions, some road closures
- Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, causing a danger to life
- Some communities may be cut off by flooded roads
