Day Services Provision (Day Centres)
Ash Park Day Centre – Ebbw Vale
Ash Park is a day centre catering for adults with age-related mental health needs and Dementia. The centre is based at Ysbyty’r Tri Chwm Hospital Ebbw Vale. The centre works closely with the Community Mental Health Social Work Team, Community Psychiatric Nurses and Day Hospital.
Bert Denning Centre – Brynmawr
This purpose built centre caters for adults with profound and multiple physical and / or sensory disabilities that require specialist staff support. The facility contains a Hydrotherapy Pool and specialised sensory equipment.
Vision House Outreach – Ebbw Vale
Vision House facilitates four outreach services. Individuals are supported to access the community, participating in a wide range of outcome focussed activities such as independent living skills, Life Skills, IT and leisure facilities.
Community Options Café – Tredegar
The Café provides work based catering training for individuals who would like to develop their skills and may wish to progress to mainstream or supported employment.
Business Resource Centre – Tredegar
Tredegar resource unit caters for older adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs, offering a stimulating environment to enable people to develop personal skills, support is provided when access their local community.
Quiet Minds/ Mental Health – Tredegar
Quiet Minds support individuals who have a Mental Health illness by rebuilding/building life skills, regaining independence and re-integrate into the community.
Second Time Around – Tredegar
STA is a partnership with Hospice of the Valley’s (HOV) where service users are supported to provide a laundering service for donated clothes to the numerous HOV charity shops across the Borough. The project can also provide a commercial laundering service on request.
Green Shoots Horticultural Project - Tredegar
Our Horticulture Project is based at Bryn Bach Park Tredegar. The project provides work based horticultural training for individuals who would like to develop their skills and who may wish to progress to mainstream or supported employment.
Pottery Project – Nantyglo
Provides opportunities for individuals to gain skills in pottery making. The Project works in partnership with United Welsh Housing Association and is located within the Llys Nant y Mynydd building situated in Nantyglo.
New Vale Project – Based at Bert Denning
New Vale recycling works in partnership with the Council’s Environment Directorate.
Vision 21 - Based at Llys Nant Y Mynydd
A partnership arrangement with Vision 21 and United Welsh Housing Association has provided opportunities for individuals to develop catering skills and qualifications with the aim of progressing to paid employment.
