Cost of Living Drop in Session

Blaenau Gwent Council is holding an advice and support session for residents worried about increasing fuel, food and other costs of living. This is a drop-in session and there is no need to book in advance.

Blaenau Gwent staff and other organisations will be available to give advice and support to help people with Council tax queries, their energy bills, water tariffs, eligibility for grants, housing support, health and wellbeing as well as food, education and benefit claims.

The event will take place on Tuesday 28 November 2023 between 2pm - 7pm at Tredegar Leisure Centre (Sports Hall) Stable Lane, Tredegar, Blaenau Gwent. NP22 4BH

Councillor Steve Thomas, Leader of Blaenau Gwent Council said:

‘The cost-of-living crisis isn’t over, and many local households are continuing to face financial challenges. It is important that people get advice and support to help them with energy bills, food, fuel and more.

A range of measures are available to help people maximise their income to meet essential living costs, however it may not always be easy to know what support available or how to apply and as a result, lots of benefits go unclaimed.

Don’t assume you’re receiving everything you’re entitled to, and I always encourage people to check. I hope this event will help people get the most up to date information to help as many of the winter support schemes have ended or are coming to an end.’
