Bus Services
Most daytime bus services within Blaenau Gwent are operated commercially, meaning they receive no financial support from the Local Authority.
Private operators, such as, Stagecoach, Henleys and Clarkes Coaches, operate most of the bus services in Blaenau Gwent. They are free to introduce or withdraw whatever services they wish provided they give at least eight weeks notice to the Traffic Commissioner.
Bus services that operate off peak, for example early mornings, evenings, and Sundays, tend to be financially supported by the Local Authority, as are socially necessary routes that are not considered commercially viable by the bus operators.
To comment or complain about a Bus Service
The Gwent Transport Unit has responsibility for procurement and monitoring of financially supported local bus services under the Transport Acts 1985 and 2000. If you have reason to complain about a local bus service, it is best in the first instance to contact the bus company directly involved.
If the bus service is subsidised by the Local Authority or you are dissatisfied with the bus companies response, then contact the Gwent Transport Unit on 01495-355444 and they will investigate the complaint on your behalf.
