In certain circumstances the Council is able to provide access protection markings, which are white lines placed on the road in front of driveways.
Please note:-
- These are not suitable for residential streets where parking obstructions are caused by residents who have more than one car.
- They will not be provided unless the driveway is already accessed via dropped kerbs.
- Although they are classed as advisory markings they are still enforceable by the Police.
- If the access is already clearly defined, access protection markings are unlikely to make a difference.
- There is a cost for the provision of these road markings, which the applicant will be expected to pay.
As each case is taken on its merits, your correspondence should detail the difficulties being experienced.
