Consultation on Proposed Equality Plan Approach
and Equality Objectives

As part of the Equality Act 2010, the Council has a duty to produce a Strategic Equality Plan by 2nd April 2012. The plan must be centred around a number of Objectives focussed on improving the equality and diversity in our communities.

In order to produce our draft Equality Objectives, we have already undertaken numerous consultation and engagement exercises around Blaenau Gwent with key stakeholders, partner organisations and local residents - such as the Equality Event at Bedwellty House.

We would now like to consult local people, groups and organisations on our proposed Equality Plan Approach and Equality Objectives. This will ensure that we are capturing the issues that really matter to the local community, and are producing a plan that will help to make Blaenau Gwent a fair and inclusive place to live, work and visit.
