Launch of New Services to Support Business Entrepreneurship
Celebrating Two Years of the Effect Network
Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council will be celebrating National Global Enterprise Week with the launch of new initiatives and celebrating two years of its Effect Network.
Global Enterprise Week runs between 13th – 19th November and this year will celebrate 10 years of helping millions of people unleashing their ideas to start new businesses. Blaenau Gwent’s Effect Network started two years ago with 46 members and has now grown to approximately 180 members.
As part of celebrating this success and encouraging global entrepreneurship; on 16th November Blaenau Gwent’s Economic Development Unit will be the hosting the Effect Networking event. The evening will consist of celebrating the Effect Network and the launch of new initiatives to support businesses in Blaenau Gwent:
• Let’s get digital; In partnership with Superfast Business Wales. Find out how you can build your online presence
• Launch of the following initiatives:
o The Business Hub – a free smart new digital platform enabling local businesses and starts up to access business support, connect with each other and discover local opportunities. The Hub will provide a full, up to date, interactive and comprehensive service to businesses and start-ups in Blaenau Gwent.
o The Blaenau Gwent Business Awards – Categories will be announced and potential sponsorship opportunities will be highlighted. Celebrating local businesses success at the event.
o Effect Business Fund to support new business start-ups – a new scheme will be announced at the event with the aim of providing financial support to businesses.
Further information about the Business Hub, The Blaenau Gwent Business Awards and the Effect Business Fund will be available following the event.
