Food Hygiene Export - Health Certificates
Request For Health Certificates
Health Certificates are issued on request to food businesses who wish to export foodstuff outside the EU. They are provided to assist local exporters in meeting food safety requirements. The need to inspect the food establishment and manufacturing process concerned will ensure all requirements specified on the packing and invoice list are fulfilled before issuing the certificate.
How to apply
For an application to be valid, all sections of the request form must be completed and correct initial payment of £100 made payable to Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council.
Please return the forms to the address below or alternatively email to email@example.com
Please note that a minimum fee of £100 is payable for each certificate, and that this fee may vary depending on the number of hours estimated to complete your request. Please contact us for a quote prior to application to confirm the exact amount that will be payable. Payment is required at the time of application and your request will not be processed until the correct fee has been paid in full.
Additional information for applicants
We will always try and incorporate the wording indicated on your form but we cannot include wording which implies that we vouch for the safety of the individual batch/consignment of food. Our wording normally reflects the fact that your foodstuffs are produced/stored in premises subject to our jurisdiction as a food authority, and which have been subject to a satisfactory inspection programme.
We reserve the right to decline to issue a certificate if we are dissatisfied with hygiene standards and practices conducted on your premises.
We also cannot certificate an individual manufacturing process but you can provide additional supporting material such as food safety management documentation and product test certificates to assist the application process.
The application and consultation process will generally take up to five working days. You will receive your certificate through the post unless you have specifically requested to collect it.
