Pupils from Willowtown Primary School have been helping to spread the festive message this Christmas by designing a card for the Mayor of Blaenau Gwent, Cllr Jen Morgan.
The card was designed by Thomas Beynon, aged 7. His design was judged the best in the Mayor of Blaenau Gwent’s annual Christmas card competition – there were over 250 entries from the school.
Jack Green, aged nine, came second and Paris Coughlin, aged five, third. All the winners were given prizes of gift vouchers.
Cllr Morgan, who is head of governors at Willowtown Primary School, Ebbw Vale, said:
"We had so many lovely entries that judging was difficult and it took us a long time to choose the winning designs. I am thrilled with Thomas’ design and I’m sure everyone will enjoy receiving a card from me this year.”
The card will be sent from Cllr Morgan to local authorities, Members of the National Assembly of Wales (AMs), Members of Parliament, Members of the European Parliament and council contacts in other countries including Germany and the island country of Grenada in the West Indies.
