They then travelled to Strasbourg, France, where they had a tour of the European Parliament.
Schoolgirl Sophie Robbins was one of those who attended the camp.
She said: “It was the best week of my life.”
To raise money for their trip the pupils took part in a variety of fundraising activities, from packing customers’ shopping bags at ASDA to a sponsored walk at Parc Bryn Bach.
The international youth camp started 18 years ago when the Blaenau Gwent Youth Twinning Association was set up.
The camps are open to young people between the ages of 13 and 16.
Next year it’s Blaenau Gwent’s turn to host the camp. Young people are expected to visit from Germany, Italy and Hungary.
The youth twinning association relies on fundraising and donations to carry out its activities.
