Play Areas
Just over 20% of Blaenau Gwent’s population are between the ages of 0–14 years (2001 Census), therefore play provisions throughout the Borough creates opportunities for children to play in a safe environment, learn, develop and live a healthy lifestyle.
Listening to children, parents and the community, we have a number of parks and open spaces throughout the Borough created for all to enjoy. With fitness and good health being the top priority for parents and the Authority alike, our parks have been designed to captivate children’s imagination, test their own agility and enjoy themselves out of harms way.
The Authority has 60 static play areas, 12 multi use game areas and 10 wheeled sports areas found throughout the Borough.
