Abertillery has a wide range of artefacts from prehistoric times up to the present day, however they have a particularly well-stocked collection of mining artefacts.

Blaina and District Museum

This new state of art musuem is managed by  Blaina Heritage Action Group. The museum displays the heritage and history of Blaina and the local area. The facility include brand-new displays on the local coal and iron industries, chapels, schools, local societies, sport and local celebrities, and a fully furnished reconstruction of a Victorian Welsh kitchen.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 10am - 12pm and 2pm - 4pm
Wednesday - 9:30am - 12pm
Thursday Evenings - 6pm - 8pm

Brynmawr and District Museum

The museum is run by the Brynmawr and District Museum Society and has won the Nationwide Building Society award for Community Endeavour. It has a varied collection of everyday artefacts including a collection of Brynmawr Furniture manufactured by one of the small industries set up by the Quakers in The Brynmawr Experiment.

Saturday 10pm -1pm

DIS The museum is situated on two floors but there is full disabled access to premises.
