How does Homeswapper work?

HomeSwapper - The Mutual exchange solution for tenants and landlords

You can swap homes with another Council tenant, a tenant of a housing association, or a tenant of another Council.  Once you have found somebody to swap with, you’ll both need to contact your landlord for permission.

Please note that if you intend swapping with someone who is not a tenant of this Council they must approach their landlord.

All exchanging tenants must get written approval from their landlord(s) before processing with the exchange. If you exchange without permission you may be required to move back.

A Mutual Exchange May Be Refused For A Number Of Reasons: -

  • A property is not a suitable size.
  • A property has adaptations that the new tenant does not need.
  • Either tenant is in breach of their Tenancy Conditions.
  • Legal action for possession of either home is in progress.

If you are successful in finding a swap please put your request in writing to the Lettings Team Manager, Housing Services, Anvil Court, Church Street, Abertillery. NP13 1DB.
