Garden Maintenance

image
You are responsible for looking after your garden.

This involves: -

  • Keeping it tidy.
  • Making sure shrubs and hedges do not become a nuisance to neighbours.
  • Ensuring that bonfires do not affect your neighbours or cause a danger.

The council will maintain access paths to front gates, front and back doors (not garden paths), steps and in some cases fences and boundary walls. Housing Services employs Housing Estate Officers to ensure gardens, communal walkways, etc, are in good order.

If you are planning to erect a shed, porch or other structure, park a car or caravan in your garden, erect a fence, or cut/remove a tree/hedge please ensure you have permission from the council before commencing work.
