The Blaenau Gwent Social Care Partnership is a well established and valued partnership. It genuinely seeks to develop a one sector one workforce approach throughout Blaenau Gwent. The partnership is actively and enthusiastically supported by its members who give their time to implement the annual plan and specific projects.
The Key Areas for Development and Actions for 2011-2012 are:
Implementation of the Social Care Workforce Development Programme (SCWDP) Plan of:
- Sector-wide Skills Training programme
- Social Work Qualifying Training programme
- Deliver and support Qualification Credit Framework (QCF) diplomas to increase the number of qualified staff across the whole sector
- Develop staff to deliver improved services
- Recognise and celebrate achievement
To support the Partnership aims - work collectively to deliver citizen focused care services in line with emerging service priorities, that meet service users needs and protect vulnerable people within Blaenau Gwent.
To develop collaboration opportunities based on the principles of:
- Financial benefit/ cost savings
- Quality benefit within existing resources
- Efficiency benefit
Further develop and optimise workforce planning and career opportunity activities across the whole sector.
