Provision of Disabled Persons Parking Places (DPPP)
- The applicant for a DPPP should be the sole driver of the vehicle.
- The applicant must be the holder of a blue badge who is able only to walk or propel a wheelchair for very short distances outside their home.
- The applicant should not have any convenient off-street parking facility such as a garage or hardstanding, or the means of providing such a facility.
- A DPPP will not be provided if it is likely to create traffic problems or road safety issues.
- An application should be jointly supported by the County Borough's Director of Community Services and the Director of Social Services.
Revokation of DPPP's
- The Director of Social Services is contacted to determine whether or not any persons within the immediate vicinity are eligible to use the said parking place.
- If there are persons nearby who can utilise the bay the request is refused.
- If however there is no-one living in the vicinity to utilise the facility and, providing there is funding available within the Traffic Management budget, the proposal is referred to the Departmental Management Team for consideration.
