Adoption Support Services

What support will I get?
At the time your child is matched with you an assessment and plan of any adoption support needs will be prepared.  This may for example include specialist equipment, therapy, practical support and help with contact arrangements or in exceptional circumstances financial support.

The provision of adoption support services is not just limited to the time of the adoption but extends into the future too.  Adoptive families can go to Social Services at any time and ask for extra help or advice.  For the first three years from the adoption order this will be provided by the Social Services adoption agency that placed the child, after three years from the adoption order the support services are provided by the Social Services area that the adopter/s live in.
