Social Services Annual Report

Further to changes in audit and inspection arrangements for Social Services, there is a requirement from the Care and Social Services inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) for the statutory Director of Social Services to produce an annual report.  The report is intended to tell the story of how well social services are being provided in Blaenau Gwent, assess performance against the priorities set for 2010/11 and identifies areas for improvement in 2011/12.

The Annual Reporting process is made up of:

  • An overview report summarising the Authority’s effectiveness to deliver Social Services and sets priorities for improvement for 2011/12.
  • A public newsletter using stories to demonstrate performance and outcomes.
  • Analysis of current effectiveness – a self assessment using judgements about service and improvement priorities.  The self assessment templates are not to be published, however, should a member of the public wish to have access to this detail they can do so by contacting us below.

There has been lots of input into the report from staff across the Council, partner agencies, services users, Health and other Authorities.

If you would like to comment on the report or the newsletter you can do so by emailing Andrea.Prosser@blaenau-gwent.gov.uk
