Educational provision at “The Works”, Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent
Following careful consideration, the Executive Committee of Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council has decided to undertake a formal public consultation exercise in relation to a number of proposals regarding the above.

Consultation events have been arranged and details of the arrangements can be found in the consultation document. Officers will be in attendance to answer your questions and take note of responses and observations made.
In addition to these consultation events, you are welcome to submit any views in writing to Alun Davies, Interim Director of Education and Leisure, Central Depot, Barleyfields Industrial Estate, Brynmawr, NP23 4YF or by emailing 21stcenturyschools@blaenau-gwent.gov.uk. Alternatively, you may wish to return the questionnaire below.
Please note: All correspondence should be received by 14th August 2010.
Comments received will then be included in a report to the Council’s Executive Committee who will decide whether to proceed or not to the next stage of publishing Statutory Notices with some or all of the proposals or to modify any proposal before proceeding.

Estyn Inspection of Blaenau Gwent Local Education Authority’s School Improvement and School Support Services
Estyn, Her Majesty’s Inspectorate for Education and Training in Wales, together with representatives of the Wales Audit Office inspected these local education services in January 2007.
In March 2007, a report on the inspection was published. Both sets of services were judged to be good services but with some barriers to further improvement. As well as highlighting the good features of the services, the inspectors made a number of recommendations to achieve further improvements.
In July 2007, the Council’s Executive approved an action plan drawn up to address the recommendations in the action plan.
