Llanhilleth Station The
new station at Llanhilleth is not yet ready for passenger use. It is
situated at the north-western part of the village close to where the
original station stood. The station initially has one platform located on
the east side (village centre side) of the railway line beneath the
existing road over bridge. The
platform will have covered areas and cycle lockers adjacent to the
platform. The car park, platforms and pedestrian facilities will be fully
lit. The car park will be accessed from a single junction with Commercial
Road. The
second (western) platform would be introduced during Phase Two. Access to
this platform will be via a pedestrian route to the south of the bridge
where a lay-by and pick up/set down area will be provided. The pedestrian
route between the two platforms will be via existing roads.
