Ebbw Vale Station

At the onset of the scheme, interchange opportunities will be provided with bus services linking Ebbw Vale town centre with the proposed Ebbw Vale Parkway station.

It is proposed that in the future, this link will be extended to a new terminus station at the northern part of the former Corus site. This would require the proposed passenger services to Cardiff and Newport to be extended. The implementation of this station is dependent upon further design and costing work to develop preferred solutions. The precise timescale for the implementation of this station depends on its economic viability in cost-benefit terms, the availability of funding, as well as the need to obtain the necessary planning consent and may require a Transport & Works Act order. The proposal would be subject to a separate public consultation exercise. The timing of this proposal is also subject to the length of time required to clear and decontaminate the former works site.
