Crosskeys Station The
station at Crosskeys is not yet ready for passenger use. It is situated on
the site of the former station adjacent to Carlton Terrace. Two platforms
are provided. Pedestrian access is from Risca Road, close to Crosskeys
College.
Both platforms have covered waiting areas. The
northbound platform is accessed by a ramp and a shorter but steeper flight
of steps. Pedestrian access between the two platforms is via High Street.
The existing footbridge to the east will not be used due to its poor
design and links to the platforms. The station platforms, pedestrian
routes and access are fully lit. Vehicular
access to the station consists of a one-way vehicular link between High
Street and Carlton Terrace, which broadly follows the route that was
associated with the original station. A pick up/set down area is provided
opposite the western end of the platform. Due
to the compact nature of the site there is no dedicated station car park.
However, the existing public car park in Gladstone Street close to the
station site has been identified for station parking.
