Blaenau Gwent young people get unlimited access to Ebbw Vale Sports Centre for just £1
Ebbw Vale Sports Centre will be throwing open its doors to young people only on Saturday, 13 August 2011.
The Open 4 Youths Night – which have proved a big hit with young people in previous years – gives young people unlimited use of the sports centre including all the facilities such as the gym or swimming at a cost of just £1 for the whole evening.
As well as this there will be other activities on offer including DJ workshops and pamper sessions, all organised by Blaenau Gwent Council’s Youth Service.
The evening runs between 6pm and 9.15pm and are are open for 11 – 25 year olds.

Support your local cinema and catch the latest blockbusters in Brynmawr this summer
A family of four can visit the cinema in Blaenau Gwent and have drinks and popcorn this summer – and still have change from £20.
Market Hall Cinema in Brynmawr has a packed summer programme of family films on offer to keep the children happy.
Currently running is the newest superhero on the block – Captain America: The First Avenger.
The cinema is Wales' oldest continually running cinema, with the Grade 2 listed building first opening in 1844.

It’s playtime at Blaenau Gwent parks this summer
Prepare yourself, it’s going to get messy – at Blaenau Gwent Council’s free summer Play Days.
A huge range of play opportunities are on offer at three play days throughout August aimed at children and young people up to the age of 16 . Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian.
Activities include den building, fire signs, karaoke, messy play, junk modelling, Street Games, face painting, Zorbs, climbing wall, screen painting and water slides.

Come and join in the Summer Fun in Blaenau Gwent
Chase away the holiday blues with some great activities for young people in Blaenau Gwent this summer.
Blaenau Gwent Youth Service has been busy organising a range of activities – two of which include Urban Arts Workshops and youth drop-in sessions.
The arts workshops will run every Friday throughout August at Ebbw Vale Institute between 12pm and 6pm. Professional tutors will be offering a range of DJ and graffiti workshops catering to all abilities.
The youth-drop in sessions will be running in Brynteg (Ebbw Vale) and Abertillery youth clubs and will provide young people with the opportunity to chat with members of the Blaenau Gwent Youth Service team, play Wii games and take part in fun activities such as world food workshops where you can prepare and taste exotic foods from all over the world.
The sessions will be at Abertillery Youth Club on Wednesdays between 1pm and 5pm and Brynteg Youth Club on Thursdays between 1pm and 5pm.
All these activities are open to 11 – 25 year olds and are free of charge.

Popular free swim back at Blaenau Gwent Council’s sports centres
Children and young people can once again take the plunge for free as Blaenau Gwent Council offers free swimming at all four sports centres over the school summer holidays.
Swimming will be free for anyone aged 16 and under until Sunday, 4th September at Ebbw Vale, Nantyglo, Tredegar and Abertillery pools during public swimming times.
Free swimming is also available for anyone aged 60 and over during public, female (for females over 60) and adult only pool sessions.
