Foster Care Fortnight runs from Monday 16th to Sunday 29th May 2011 and raises the profile of fostering. During the 2 week campaign the shortage of foster carers and the impact this has on children in care will be highlighted.
The main campaign messages are:
- Fostering is a career like no other as it uniquely bridges family and professional life.
- Foster carers combine a love and desire to help children with a passion for and dedication to providing the best possible care.
- We need a diverse range of people with different skills and qualities so more children are placed in the right home, first time.
In Blaenau Gwent events will be launched on Wednesday 18th May at Ebbw Vale Learning Action Centre. This event will celebrate the success and achievements of foster carers within Blaenau Gwent.
