Local Development Plan

STOP PRESS - FOCUSSED CHANGES CONSULTATION

The Council is inviting your comments on the Statement of Focussed Changes during a 6 week public consultation period. This will take place from Thursday 19th January to 1st March 2012.

The Statement of Focussed Changes sets out the changes that the Council consider appropriate to make to the Local Development Plan following consideration of the representations received to the Deposit Plan and subsequent Alternative sites. These will be submitted for Independent Examination alongside the Deposit Version of the LDP.

To view and download the Statement of Focussed Changes document, please see the Focussed Changes Consultation page.

The public consultation period on the Deposit Local Development Plan and Alternative Sites has now closed.

To view the Deposit documents, please see the Planning Policy Evidence Base and Deposit Plan Consultation page.

For more information on the Alternative Site Consultation please see the Alternative Site Consultation and Alternative Site Representation Register pages.

Deposit LDP - What Happens Next?
After the Deposit LDP is subject to public consultation, the Council will consider all of the representations received and make responses to the representations. The Deposit LDP will then be subject to Examination in Public by an Independent Planning Inspector (appointed by the Welsh Government) who will consider the Deposit LDP, all representations received and the Council's responses in order to determine if the LDP is 'sound'. If the Deposit LDP is deemed to be 'sound' by the independent Inspector then it will replace the Blaenau Gwent Unitary Development Plan as the statutory development for Blaenau Gwent, guiding the development and use of land in the County Borough up to 2021.

Revised Delivery Agreement - January 2011
The Delivery Agreement comprises the Local Planning Authority's timetable for the preparation of the Local Development Plan and the Community Involvement Scheme. The Council has found it necessary to amend the timetable for preparation of the LDP as contained in the original Delivery Agreement. It sought the agreement of the Welsh Assembly Government to this Delivery Agreement in December 2010. The Welsh Assembly Government agreed these changes in January 2011. The text of the revised Delivery Agreement can be found below:
