Regeneration Projects

Blaenau Gwent Draft Regeneration Strategy
A Draft Regeneration Strategy has been prepared for Blaenau Gwent by consultants Shared Intelligence. The Council has agreed to undertake wide ranging consultation on the Draft Strategy with all relevant organisations and the general public during October and November 2008.

Copies of the Draft Regeneration Strategy will be available in all Blaenau Gwent libraries, and Community First Offices, along with explanatory leaflets.

Copies of the Draft Regeneration Strategy can be e-mailed to interested parties. Officers will be happy to talk to individuals or groups to discuss it. Let the Council know what you think about the Draft Strategy, what you like, what you don't like, any other suggestions you may have.

Project Information

Within the broader context of the Regeneration Programme, a number of key projects are progressing in the Ebbw Fawr, Ebbw Fach and Tredegar areas.

The Information (attached PDF File below) outlines details of 19 Regeneration projects, of the projects, 5 have been completed or part completed through phases. A further 3 have been the subject of an earlier report to the Executive seeking approval of Capital funds towards the implementation of the same.

Eight (8) projects are being progressed in the Ebbw Fawr area., Seven (7) in the Ebbw Fach area and Four (4 ) in the Tredegar area.

External grant approval totalling £13,327,700 has been secured towards the implementation of Twelve (12) of these projects whilst applications for external funding are being progressed for Six (6) of the remainder, or part thereof.
