Licences & Street Trading

The Licensing Team is part of the Trading Standards section of the Public Protection Division.  The main aim of the team is to protect the public and prevent public nuisance and crime and disorder by issuing and enforcing licences, registrations and permits in respect of the following:· 
    

• Taxis - hackney carriage and private hire vehicles, drivers and operators 
• Charitable collections – house to house & street collections
• Licensing Act 2003 – alcohol, entertainment and late night refreshment, premises licences, club premises certificates, personal licences & temporary event notices (TENs)
• Gambling Act 2005 - licences and permits for casions, betting offices, bingo halls, amusement arcades, tracks, gaming machines in pubs and clubs and small society lotteries
