The reasons for legislation on age restricted products such as cigarettes/tobacco, alcohol, solvents, lottery tickets, fireworks, video’s etc, is to protect young people from any mental or physical harm that access to these products can cause.
We work in partnership with agencies such as police, health promotion, community safety and local schools to reduce the number of illegal underage sales. We carry out test purchasing using volunteers and participate in multi agency events such as crucial crew and drug and alcohol awareness days where school children are warned of the dangers that age restricted products can cause.
