Language & Play Programme

Language and Play" />

The Language and Play (LAP) is a new training initiative developed in consultation with the Early Years and Sure Start Partnerships.  It is a pack covering six workshops to help parents promote early language development, play, listening, talking and fun with their babies and toddlers.

The programme consists of six one and-a-half hour sessions, which include:

The importance of talk

Talking and playing in everyday situations

Talking and playing – Out and About

Sharing books and stories

Enjoying rhyme and song

Early writing

Sessions include a video clip, joint activities, singing & stories through the medium of English or Welsh.

The Language and Play programme can be found in Early Years Settings e.g. Parent & Toddler groups, Playgroups, Nurseries, Family Centres & Health Clinics etc.
