Anti-Social Behaviour

Have you experienced anti-social behaviour problems in your area? If problems are occuring now then please contact the police and inform them straight away. Blaenau Gwent CBC is now working as part of the Safer Blaenau Gwent Community Safety Partnership to identify problem areas and individuals, and using Anti-Social Behaviour Orders (ASBOs) and Acceptance Behaviour Contracts (ABCs) to tackle the issues.

You can now call C2BG Contact Centre on (01495) 311556, or email us using the Online Form link on the right hand side, to report incidents. We can pass the information on and help the Partnership build a picture of the problem areas. People can experience anti-social behaviour in different ways, and the issues may not effect you directly, but can effect a community as a whole and also peoples quality of life.

Below are some common issues and the serious problems caused if left unchecked:

  • Intimidating gatherings of young people in public places - Creates high levels of fear of crime and 'no go' areas, which in turn makes life miserable for people and stops them doing what they want.
  • Harrassment, includings racist and homophobic incidents - Causes long term emotional and physical problems for victims.
  • Damage to cars and property, including graffiti and vandalism - High cost, falling on individuals, local and central government and a wide range of services.
  • Drug, solvent and alcohol abuse, Nuisance vehicles and uncontrolled pets are also problems.
