Roads - School Crossing Patrols

The Authority's Highways Section is responsible for the operation and management of this service in Blaenau Gwent.  School Crossing Patrol Officers operate at many locations throughout the Borough, and each day they assist thousands of people to cross the road safely.

A Reminder for Motorists

When approaching a patrol you should always be prepared to slow down or stop.  Once the patrol raises the sign in a vertical position you must STOP your vehicle by law.  You must not wait for them to step off the pavement.  The Highway Code states "you must stop when signalled to do so by a School Crossing Patrol exhibiting a STOP sign."
