Nantyglo Sports Centre will be providing an intense Lifeguard Training course for anyone who wants to pursue a career as a Lifeguard.
From Tuesday 21st – Saturday 25th February 2006, the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) course will be held at Nantyglo Sports Centre.
The one-week intensive course allows you to work as a lifeguard anywhere in the UK.
The course covers the essential section two of the site specific module, which includes:
Four metre depth test
National Pool Lifeguard Qualification manual endorsed by the RLSS
Teaching and assessment by Qualified Trainer Assessors.
An exam will be held on the last day of the course at Ebbw Vale Sports Centre on Saturday 25th February at 5.00pm.
If you’re interested in training as a lifeguard and want to join the course, you have to be a competent swimmer and over the age of 16. You don’t need formal qualifications to join the course but a knowledge of life saving would be an advantage.
The overall cost of the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification course is £200 per person.
