Who do you think you are?

The BBC hit family history series, Who do you think you are? is back on our screens, with six more celebrities searching out their families past using various resources, including libraries and archives.

As part of the new series, local BBC radio stations will also be hosting their own Family History Weekend on the 11th –12th February 2006.

If you are inspired by the series, then take a fascinating journey into your own family's past. Discover the enormous array of resources at your fingertips at your Local Studies Centre at Tredegar Library, as they celebrate their own Family History Day as part of the national weekend.

There will be a special Family History Day at Tredegar Local Studies Centre, Tredegar Library on 11th February 2006, between 10am – 4pm, where Blaenau Gwent residents will be able to see the resources available and speak to staff about researching their family tree.

A number of family History Societies and experts will also be on hand to give advice, including the Gwent Family History Society, Merthyr Tydfil Family History Society and the Gwent Record Office, who will be able to help customers with their family research.

As part of Local Studies service, Blaenau Gwent Libraries is currently purchasing the online resource, ancestry.com, which will enhance the research in this growing area.
