Abertillery is to be the first area in Blaenau Gwent to pilot the new C2BG outreach services to its residents from Monday 30 January.
People living in and around Abertillery, Llanhilleth, Six Bells and Cwmtillery will be able to pay council bills, make enquiries, report incidents, complain to or compliment the council through 10 community venues within these areas.
The increased customer access to all services currently delivered by C2BG, the Council’s state of the art Contact Centre, is being piloted in the Abertillery area prior to the county-wide launch on April 3 when all 40 venues go live.
Two of the venues in Abertillery, the library and the sports centre, will be available to C2BG customers for the duration of their existing opening hours and each will have a freephone facility connecting directly to C2BG. The rest are available during the hours set out below. Why not cut out our advert in this edition of the paper and keep it handy?
Customers using the outreach facilities will be greeted by a trained customer service representative from C2BG and a housing officer, both of whom will help with all enquiries. Private facilities for customers wishing to discuss confidential issues can be provided.
The C2BG outreach project increases customer access to services within the community in which they live. It has been the major driver behind improving customer service for everyone in Blaenau Gwent.
Councillor Nigel Daniels, Executive Member for Governance, says: “C2BG and its outreach facilities are changing the way our customers can do business with the council.
“Customers can access over 20 council services by phone, face to face, minicom and in the not too distant future by SMS and email. All these will be available via this pilot project for the entire Abertillery area, encompassing Llanhilleth, Six Bells and Cwmtillery. Customers can visit the venues and conduct their business face to face with customer service representatives and housing officers.”
C2BG (Connect to Blaenau Gwent), enables customers to make contact with the council, either via the telephone or face to face, about any number of services such as pest control, rubbish collections, large goods collections, school services, whether to complain or compliment or to pay a bill and receive a high quality, consistent, professional response in a local venue.
