Environmental Awards 2010

Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council are delighted to launch the Environmental Awards and welcome your entries for 2010. These awards aim to recognise and reward the tremendous effort many people put into enhancing and protecting our local environment.

Over the last four years the event has become increasingly popular within the Borough and we aim to include people from all walks of life.

There are various categories included in the Awards   involving local schools, businesses, community groups and individuals. Each year we review the categories to enable wider issues such as Biodiversity, Waste Reduction and Energy Efficiency to be included.

Blaenau Gwent are very fortunate this year to have formed a joint initiative with Dwr Cymru/  Welsh Water not only to sponsor a Water Efficiency Award but in conjunction with this they are rolling out a programme to schools to promote Water Efficiency. This is the first time that Welsh Water have worked with a Local Authority and we are delighted that they have chosen Blaenau Gwent.
