Do you have unwanted items that you would like disposed of? Blaenau Gwent CBC offers not only the civic amenity sites at Silent Valley, Newvale and Bourneville, but we can also arrange to have unwanted items collected from your home. These fall into the following categories:
To help us cut down on landfill usage please call HOMEMAKERS on 01873 857618 to arrange a collection that will enable items to be used again. There may be a small charge for this service. Homemakers can also carry out full house clearances if needed. Please contact them for a quotation.
Civic Waste will be collected on your bin day, and include large items such as, 3 piece suites, beds, wardrobes, and unwanted large items of furniture. These collections are limited to 3 large items or the equivalent of 12 bags per 12 weeks, and must be put directly at your bin point by 7:30am on the day of collection.

We no longer collect the following items/waste: DIY waste, bathroom/kitchen suites, wooden flooring, doors, soil, sand, tiles/ceramics, cement or timber. These should be taken to a Civic Amenity site. Please call (01495) 311556 for more information.
Green Waste collections include tree cuttings, grass cuttings, hedge cuttings, leaves etc. Any tree branches should be cut down to maximum length of 5 ft. Maximum collection is 20 bags/bundles of waste. This collection is available every week and must be put at the bin point by 7:30am on the day of collection.

Electrical items are collected by a section the Tidy Trev recycling team
Electrical Items such as fridges/freezers, microwaves, T.Vs, washing machines, dishwashers, radios, toasters, VCRs etc can be collected. They must be placed at a prominent point in clear view of your property and you must specify whether items will be at the front or rear access. The crew must be able to access the location with their vehicle.
